The Difference Maker Calendar (DMC) is a 40-page proactively-focused calendar/planner for students and students of life. It contains a philosophy for living built around personal responsibilty. In addition to the 12 months of calendar outlines, it has sections devoted to personal motivation, personal development, working with people and leadership.
DMC author Mike Smith believes the lessons of life divide into basically two things - content (data sorted out to become information, then nurtured and grown into wisdom) and processes (the steps one takes to grow to wisdom). Content comes to us through experience, observations and purposeful thought, while processes are divided into talent (born being able to master a process very easily) and skill (mastering a process through hard work and study.) A successful life is the mastery of processes and the attainment of wisdom. To that end, The DMC contains sub-sets devoted to the processes generally accepted as "needed for success": time-management, goal-setting, self-actualization, attitude maintenance, working with people, and leadership. This is not a detailed book but rather an outline of processes and a tool to help the reader purposefully build a better life.
