Why is he called The "Original" Mike Smith?

Mike tells people that with "Mike" being the most common first name for males in the U.S. and with "Smith" being the most common last name in the U.S., people might get the idea that THIS Mike Smith is a very COMMON man - but he wants them to know that he is most UNcommon, and so he goes by The "Original" Mike Smith.

How much does Mike cost?

How far in advance is he booked?

Usually four months, but sometimes Mike is booked a year in advance. It is very important to check with us. Often events can be added into gaps in his schedule, especially if Mike is scheduled to be in another location in the same general area.

Can he tailor his message to our theme?

Actually, Mike prefers that approach.

How large a group can he address?

How big is the room and how good is the sound system? He has addressed 8,000 in an arena.

Can we record his performance (video/audio)?

Yes, for your own use and if you provide him with a copy. Commercial recording is not permitted without prior permission from Mike.

What age groups does Mike prefer?

Middle school through nursing home.

Does Mike need any props?

Usually a stool on stage.

What kind of a microphone does Mike prefer?

A wireless handheld does nicely, or a wired handheld with a long cord because Mike likes to move around.

Is there follow-up available for what he does?

We can send copies of the rhymes Mike uses if you would like to make them available to your attendees. We also direct your facilitators to Mike's presentation notes so that they may better understand what Mike is doing and better process the event. Note that there are follow-up questions available there.

Does Mike do training as well?
